Building Fractal #3
This is the third in a series of weekly newsletters where I'll be sharing my journey of reimagining the intersection between the future of work and AI.
Happy Monday!
Let’s get straight to it…
💡 In this section, I’ll evaluate how building went last week.
What we did well last week:
What we could do better this week:
Main learnings 🧭
💡 I find the best way to integrate learnings into future work is to clarify them through writing and share them so they can be helpful to others.
Startups are increasingly hiring talent on a fractional/flexible basis to save costs and attract the best talent.
Many people affected by recent layoffs have become very disillusioned with corporate employers’ loyalty and investment in their careers. More people seem to be open to fractional work/carving their own path to regain autonomy and stability.
Many startup employees have basic AI literacy but their biggest pain point is finding the right/best tools for their specific use case.
Having now spent a few weeks really understanding and refining the problem space I’m focusing on (future of work x AI), I’m swallowing the difficult pill that building a traditional startup may not be the best way to solve this problem. This is a challenging, yet liberating realisation. There is so much fear, uncertainty and excitement at this intersection right now that market education and “futureproofing” both individuals and organisations seems like it has more potential to make a real impact for the foreseeable future.
Kudos 🙌
💡 A quick moment to show my appreciation for my community, collaborators and supporters.
Thanks to the participants of our very first AI After Hours workshop last week! We had a group of highly accomplished, diverse individuals, who were working on a variety of amazing missions, from PhDs in synthetic biology to Polaris fellows and startup employees. Their enthusiasm, thirst for learning and feedback made me really optimistic about the value of running more of these workshops!
Asks & Offers 🍀
💡 What support do I need and can I offer this week?
Offer: If you manage a team and want to train them with AI skills to automate tasks, save time and reduce costs, let's design a Futureproof Team Training together.
Ask: If you have any feedback on this weekly newsletter or have suggestions about how to make it better, please reply to this email!
Sending good vibes for the week ahead and thanks for reading,
Nikita
P.S. I launched my Youtube channel last week and published my first video on how to build a Personal Theory of Change to guide your career. Check it out here and let me know what you think!
